This new kid on the block wants to be a bar, a club and a restaurant. It's likely to succeed on all three fronts with a spacious and welcoming bar section in front, a nightclub area in back and dining room in between. With avante garde cocktails such as pomegranate martinis, and live entertainment on weekends, the bar and club are nicely handled. But food is often the wild card in such places. Here, however, the food is the real winner, in quality, portion and price. Go for grilled peppercorn-sauced skirt steak, Memphis pulled pork sliders, chipotle-braised beef brisket nachos, salt and pepper fried calamari, or roasted corn chowder with bacon and chicken. And don't skip the signature "cookie smash" dessert -- trust me, it will be a smash hit at your table. -- MELANIE BARNARD
